At Pizza Hut®, we believe in the importance of supporting the communities in which we live and work. We receive thousands of funding and donation requests every year and because we cannot support every worthy organization, we have developed these guidelines to help organizations understand our priorities and procedures.
Corporate Support
At the corporate level, we have dedicated our support and giving to reading and literacy. To help instill a lifelong love of reading in children, we created the BOOK IT!® National Reading Incentive Program in 1985. This unique and free program recognizes and rewards elementary school children who achieve set reading goals. Today, approximately 65 percent of public, private and parochial schools use the BOOK IT! program in more than 910,000 classrooms across the country.
We also provide funding to education and youth literacy organizations primarily in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the home of our corporate office. We are interested in working with programs that have clear goals for youth education and programs that may not exist without our funding.
Pizza Hut, Inc. does not provide support at the corporate level to any of the following (see Local Support):
- Individuals
- Profit-making entities
- Athletic groups, activities or fundraisers
- Endowments, capital campaigns or memorials
- Religious organizations or programs
- Travel fees for school groups or individuals
- Political organizations, campaigns or candidates
- Medical care or donations
